Camp Lou Henry Hoover Celebrates 70th Anniversary with Weekend Festivities

(Middleville, NJ., September 11, 2023) Camp Lou Henry Hoover is celebrating its 70th Anniversary this year during the weekend of Friday, September 29-Sunday, October 1 at the camp site in Middleville, NJ for campers, leaders, alum, staff and friends of the resident camp. Relive your camp experience during the weekend through classic camp activities like hiking Hoover’s hills, boating, archery, campfires with s’mores… and more! Registered attendees can enjoy a day, a night or the entire weekend.
1953-2023: Our Legacy Burns Bright is the theme of the anniversary acknowledging the lasting impact that Camp Hoover has had on so many lives over the years.
For the past 70 years, Camp Hoover, which is operated by Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey, has provided thousands of girls with unique outdoor opportunities that allow them to grow in their confidence, independence and empower them to make a difference in the world.
“Our camp program is rooted in 70 years of tradition but continues to provide our campers with the experiences that are relevant today,” said Deb Hooker, Property Manager and Director-Camp Hoover. Hooker has been involved with Camp Hoover for over 40 years and is passionate about empowering youth with leadership experiences. “Camp changes lives and those changes help to make our world a better place,” she said.
