It all starts here. Juniors team up with fellow Girl Scouts to explore their community, discover a need or issue they care about, and work together to address it. It’s a chance to create a plan and make an impact on the community they live in.
You can become a Bronze Award Girl Scout if you:
- Are in fourth or fifth grade
- Are a registered Girl Scout Junior
- Have completed a Junior Leadership Award or Junior Journey

How Do We Get Started?
Watch this Bronze Award Tutorial and then complete the knowledge check so we know you did it. This is a requirement for the leaders.
Leaders and support volunteers can review the Bronze Award Guidelines for Adults and the Money Earning policy.
Download this packet and hand it out to your Girl Scouts. It includes a simplified guide, a sample time log and a preview of the questions on the submission form.
- If your troop would like to learn more about the bronze award, you can request an a la carte Bronze Award Workshop for five or more Girl Scouts.
- While formal pre-approval of project ideas is not required, Girl Scouts are welcome to reach out with their ideas to awards@gshnj.org. We’re happy to provide feedback and guidance.
Submission of Bronze Award Projects
The deadline for Bronze Award submissions is Sept 30th of the calendar year that the oldest Girl Scout in the group graduates 5th grade. If the oldest Girl Scout in the group completes the 5th grade in 2025, ALL submissions for the same Bronze Award project must be submitted to council by Sept 30, 2025.
Juniors can submit their projects to council using this online form. They must upload copies of their:
- Project budget
- Time log
- Troop Leader/Project Advisor’s Endorsement form
Once submitted, council will process within 30 days.
