Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey (GSHNJ) congratulates Tenisha Malcolm-Wint, Director of the Girl Scout Leadership Center (GSLC) in Newark, on being named for the second year in a row to the Powerful Women of New Jersey list for 2025. This annual list, curated by Assemblywoman Shavonda Sumter (District 35), highlights women participating in the political process outside of being an elected official.
As a driving force behind the GSLC, Tenisha oversees the center’s operations, ensuring it becomes a cornerstone for community engagement and youth development. She cultivates partnerships with stakeholders, collaborates with local organizations, and designs impactful programs for Girl Scouts aged 5-17. Her work reflects a deep commitment to providing equitable access to transformative experiences while promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Her efforts position the GSLC as a vital resource for youth and the Newark community, paving the way for long-term impact and success.
“This recognition speaks volumes about Tenisha's exceptional leadership and the impactful work you are driving here at Girl Scouts," said Natasha Hemmings, CEO of GSHNJ. “It’s a proud moment for you personally and for our entire council as well.”
