Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey (GSHNJ) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Heidi Hemmer as the new 1st Vice Chair of the Board of Directors. With over 30 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, Heidi brings a wealth of expertise and leadership to our organization.
Heidi currently serves as Senior Vice President of Network Engineering at Verizon Communications Inc., a Fortune 20 global technology company. In this role, she leads teams responsible for Access & Carrier Management, Network PMO, Data Analytics and Insights, and Power Space & Cooling Engineering. Heidi has played a pivotal role in building America’s most reliable 5G network and enhancing 4G LTE coverage and performance, ensuring millions of customers receive the promise of the digital world every day.
Throughout her illustrious career, Heidi has held various leadership positions, including VP of Central Engineering, VP of Global Strategic Sourcing, VP of Network Transformation, and VP of Technology Strategy & Planning. She has served on the Corporate Advisory Board for Rutgers University Business School, the Supply Chain Leaders of America Board, and has actively participated in numerous Women’s Leadership events. Heidi is widely recognized for her ability to establish and lead high-performing technical teams, develop talent, optimize processes, and create a winning culture.
Heidi graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology. She resides in Chatham, NJ, with her husband, teenage daughter, a faithful hound dog, and an ever-alert cattle dog.
