Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey (GSHNJ) proudly recognizes the 28 members of our council who make up the 2025 Girl Scout Gold Award Class. These remarkable young changemakers have earned the highest honor in Girl Scouting—the Gold Award—by creating sustainable, lasting change and making a meaningful impact in their local communities.
On Sunday, May 18, GSHNJ celebrated this incredible accomplishment during a special ceremony at the Liberty Hall Academic Center & Exhibition Hall at Kean University in Union, NJ. The event featured a powerful keynote address from Darlene Repollet, First Lady of Kean University, and award presentations by GSHNJ CEO Natasha Hemmings and GSHNJ Board Development Committee members Dr. Kenyetta Jackson and Jasmin Betha.
Gold Award Girl Scouts are driven problem solvers, empathetic leaders, and confident communicators. To earn the Gold Award, each Girl Scout must identify an issue in their community they care deeply about, research its root causes, and develop a sustainable solution. With guidance from experts and support from their council, they lead every step of the project—from proposal to implementation to impact.
The 2025 Gold Award Class tackled real-life challenges including environmental sustainability, racial justice, mental and physical well-being, and gender inequality—demonstrating that when Girl Scouts take action in their communities, they create lasting change for a better world.
