The 3rd annual Climate Action Day was an inspiring and impactful event at the Girl Scouts Leadership Center, where girls of all levels came together to learn, lead, and take action for the planet. The day was filled with engaging, hands-on activities designed to educate and empower Girl Scouts to understand climate change and become environmental advocates in their communities.
Our Cadette, Senior, and Ambassador-level youth were prepared to #LeadLikeAGirlScout by preparing educational tri-fold boards and facilitating activities to guide younger Girl Scouts—Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors—through key environmental concepts. These older girls not only showcased their knowledge but also demonstrated incredible leadership and mentorship skills.
We extend our sincere thanks to our partner Sophia Curtis, the creator of Sour Bellies, for joining us and offering a delicious and educational workshop. Girls learned how fermented foods benefit the body and how utilizing entire fruits in simple recipes reduces food waste—showing that sustainability can start in the kitchen.
Throughout the day, girls explored a variety of climate-focused topics, including:
- Citizen Science Tree Exploration and understanding the vital role trees play in ecosystems,
- Building Electric Circuits to learn about sustainable energy and basic engineering concepts,
- Taking Civic Action by writing letters to local legislators to advocate for environmental protection,
And more hands-on, science-based activities that connected personal action to global impact
We’re proud of all the Girl Scouts who participated and especially grateful for the dedication of our older girls who made the day such a success. Scroll through the photo highlights below to relive the energy and enthusiasm that made Climate Action Day 2025 one to remember!
