Make a Difference Weekend is an opportunity for individuals, families, friends, and troops to spend time at Camp Lou Henry Hoover while helping care for our beautiful 340-acre property.
Volunteers will help revitalize camp after the long winter and prepare the property for the upcoming spring and summer camping season.
We welcome volunteers with skills in areas such as carpentry, plumbing, maintenance, painting, organization, and general cleaning. Projects may include:
Cleaning cabins
Organizing and inventorying program supplies
Washing windows
Cleaning and stocking program boxes
Clearing and tagging trails
Painting and basic maintenance projects
There will be a variety of tasks available, both indoors and outdoors, and volunteers should come prepared for a day of hands-on work.
Lunch and dinner will be provided in the Dining Hall on Saturday. Groups are also welcome to stay overnight for one or both nights during the weekend.
This event is open to both Girl Scouts and non-Girl Scouts.
