Build bridges across generations and become a champion for change!
Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey is proud to partner with Gray Panthers NYC to bring the Age and Youth in Action Patch to our council. Originally launched with Girl Scouts of Greater New York, this first-of-its-kind initiative empowers Girl Scouts to build meaningful relationships with older adults while exploring the power of intergenerational advocacy and community action.
Created by Gray Panthers NYC intern Isabel Postelnek, the program invites Girl Scouts to connect with older adults, learn about the inspiring legacy of Gray Panthers founder Maggie Kuhn, and participate in workshops, service projects, and events that foster empathy, respect, and active citizenship.
At its heart, the Age and Youth in Action Patch encourages Girl Scouts to see aging not as a barrier, but as a shared journey of learning, leadership, and advocacy-proving that every generation has something valuable to teach and learn.
This three-part program series will take place on Sundays, October 11th, 18th, and 25th, from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Girl Scout Leadership Center. Participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions to fully engage with the program and earn their patch.
Girl Scouts and adults must register for this program or event. All Girl Scout participants must be chaperoned at this program or event by their Troop Leaders or by a guardian.
