Date: Sat Mar 28, 1:30 PM EDT - Sat Mar 28, 3:00 PM EDT

Discover the storytelling power of classical music as NJ Symphony partners with Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey for this family-friendly and sensory-friendly performance designed for all ages. This one-hour concert, preceded with an hands-on Instrument Discovery Zone, explores Beethoven's "Pastoral" Symphony, a fascinating work that depicts very specific scenes and storylines. Inspired by Leonard Bernstein's masterful way of putting young audiences at the center of music-making, this interactive concert will feature inside tips, listening cues, and fun facts that make for the perfect Saturday afternoon troop family outing! A special fun patch is included for all Girl Scout youth. This event fulfills Step 1 of the Council's Own Newark Badge

Additional Details (read in full):

  • GSHNJ has reserved 150 orchestra section tickets at NJPAC for this performance.
  • This will be a "Relaxed Performance", designed to accommodate the differing needs of our patrons of all abilities, including individuals with autism, sensory sensitivities, or cognitive and physical differences. This concert supports the New Jersey Symphony's mission to make orchestral music accessible to all by removing barriers often found in traditional concert settings. Audience members are encouraged to enter and exit the concert hall as needed throughout the performance and bring comfort items like sensory tools or stuffed animals that will aid in enhancing your musical experience! Accommodations such as large-print programs, sensory guides, a relaxation room, and more are also available.
  • For this event, we are using gsEvents "Sale by Quantity" capacity, where Girl Scout members can purchase tickets for their family or troop, including both members and non-members.
  • While tickets can be transferred, they are NOT refundable after purchase.
  • Seating will be assigned in the GSHNJ section with tickets bought by the same person seated together.
  • A limited number of handicapped accessible seats are available. Please contact us prior to purchasing to check availability.
  • Tickets will be e-tickets and will be transferred to individual purchasers approximately two weeks prior to the show. Purchasers can then save the e-tickets to their digital wallets on a mobile device and/or transfer ticket(s) to other troop or family members as needed.
