Hey Girl Scouts! Get ready to howl with the Wolves at Lakota Wolf Preserve! This is the perfect time of year to observe wolves playing and interacting with each other in a natural, wooded habitat. After check-in, warm up with hot cocoa before a short, but steep hike up to the preserve, followed by an informative and exciting wolf-watch. We will learn about the social structure of wolf packs, their eating habits, interactions, and other interesting facts concluding with an observation of the preserve's foxes, lynx and bobcat! To end the day, we will learn about how we can help wolves with an optional take-action project through Team Wolf.

Program Details:

  • This program partially supports the Daisy Animal Observer & Eco Learner, Brownie Eco Friend, Junior Animal Habitat & Trail Adventure, Cadette Animal Helper & Eco Trek, Senior Eco Explorer and Voice for Animals and Ambassador Eco Advocate Badges.
  • Our program price includes tour, fun patch, cocoa, and program supplies for the take-action project.
  • You MUST arrive between 9:30-10 am for program check-in.
  • The guided hike (led by a GSHNJ staff member) to the preserve leaves at 10 am. (Optional shuttle service will also be available or individuals may choose to hike on their own.)
  • The Wolf Watch begins at 10:30 am sharp and is about 60-75 minutes. (If you are late, you will be considered a no-show and will not be able to join the tour!)
