Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors are invited to join the kick-off of GSHNJ's new Book Club Series, Girls Who Read, LEAD! We'll begin with Rising Troublemaker by Luvvie Ajayi Jones, a book about conquering fear, embracing your true self, and using your voice to spark change. Our first session is on July 10th at the Source of Knowledge located at 867 Broad St, Newark, NJ 07102. We'll pass out books and patches, do an activity relating to the book, explore the shelves with co-owner Masani Barnwell, and connect with fellow Girl Scouts. No prior reading is required for the Kick-Off, and light refreshments will be served! Our second session will be on August 7th at 7 PM at the Newark Leadership Center, located at 375 McCarter Hwy Suite 104, Newark, NJ 07114, where we'll enage in in-depth conversations and choose our next book for the fall!
Program Details:
The fee includes the book, a custom patch, and program supplies. Additional fun patches will be distributed at both sessions. If you already received a book for our May 15th Author Event, you must still register for this program. If you plan on attending both sessions, you only need to register for July 10th! If you can't attend both sessions, just register for the date you'll be attending. This is a drop-off program; staff chaperones will be provided. Troop leaders/guardians can register to receive the book and patch. Non-members are welcome and a virtual option will also be available. NO REFUNDS. How to Get the Book & Patch:
You can pick up the book at the Kick-Off event or before at one of our Service Centers during Retail Shop hours. You can also book a locker pick-up here.
