Date: Sat Nov 15, 1:00 PM EST - Sat Nov 15, 4:00 PM EST
Step into the world of ciphers, secrets, and codes! In this
exciting hands-on program, Girl Scouts will become
cryptographers-experts at hiding and revealing hidden messages while
earning their Think Like a Programmer badge. Working in small teams,
you'll learn how to crack codes, solve mysteries, and create your own
encrypted messages using real cryptographic tools.
You'll
start by breaking simple Caesar ciphers and learn why some codes are
easy to crack. Then, you'll move on to the more challenging
Substitution and Vigenère ciphers, racing to uncover a secret story
before encrypting your own message for another team to solve.
By the end of the session, you'll understand the math and logic
behind secret messages and how encryption helps protect information in
the digital age.
