Individually Registered Members are girls who create their own unique
Girl Scout experience without being part of a traditional troop.
Under the guidance of an adult mentor, a girl can mix her interests
with participation in Girl Scout events, special groups, community
service, one-of-a-kind leadership opportunities and more!
Girls get to decide the activities they participate in, the skills
they want to learn, and which recognitions and awards to complete -
all at their own pace.
Here are a few ways Individually Registered Members can join in on
Mentoring Individually Registered Members
Every IRM has an adult mentor she can rely on to help guide her best
Girl Scout experience. Like troop leaders, mentors must be registered,
background checked, and trained adult members of Girl Scouts.

Funding the Girl Scout Experience
Assistance is available to cover the costs of girl and adult memberships.
Funds raised by IRMs through council’s Product
Programs or other Girl Scout-related money
earners are accumulated into holding accounts. These funds can be
accessed to reimburse a variety of expenses related to a girl’s
participation in Girl Scouting. For more information, see our IRM Fund Request Form.
