The Young Women of Vision Leadership Breakfast brings together entrepreneurs and corporate professionals to celebrate amazing women who are leaders in their respective fields. The event celebrates the vital contributions that women make across industries, and how that affects our collective work in developing future female leaders. The funds raised will support Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey as we empower girls to walk boldly towards sisterhood, justice, and equity so girls in our communities can thrive.

Heidi Hemmer, Senior Vice President of Field Engineering, Verizon will kick off the morning with her inspiring story of how she started her career as a zoologist and became a telecommunications executive recognized as a role model for leading change initiatives. Currently, Ms. Hemmer leads the team responsible for the national 5G rollout.

Jennifer Velez, Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey for her dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable populations, with a focus on healthcare delivery and the social and economic barriers. For more than 20 years, Ms. Velez has been a community health executive as well as the longest-serving Commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Human Services.

Kim Hanemann, President and Chief Operating Officer, PSE&G for her dedication to making our world a better place through her leadership in Clean Energy Initiatives. Ms. Hanemann is committed to creating diverse teams, advocating for women in STEM professions (especially engineering), and leading PSE&G’s Powering Progress vision—to help their customers use less energy and ensure the energy they do use is cleaner and more reliable than ever.

Deb “Hook” Hooker, Property Manager and Director of Camp Lou Henry Hoover, for her dedication to providing superior outdoors and camping experiences to girls. During her 30-year tenure, she has nurtured a family of campers passionate about the outdoors, women’s leadership, and adventure.
