Virtual Programs à la Carte

GSHNJ offers opportunities for you, your troop, or group to participate in a staff-led virtual program at a time that works for you! Just choose from our extensive menu, fill out the inquiry form below, and we'll get in touch with you to begin the reservation process. Programs à la carte must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance of requested date to allow adequate time to schedule a facilitator.

Basic Leadership Training For Groups

Program Level: V | Length: 2 hours | Cost: Free | Minimum Adults: Maximum Adults: 20

There is a lot involved with setting up a new Girl Scout troop, and we’re here to help you get started. Basic Leadership Training is the place to learn about council resources and structure, safety standards, working with parents, troop finances, registration, uniforms, and all the basics needed to get your troop up and running. BLT à la Carte is intended for groups of new leaders; individuals may register for a BLT webinar here.

Blazing New Trails

Program Level: C,S,A | Length: 60 minutes | Cost: FREE | Minimum: 5       Maximum: 50

Is your troop, group, or service unit interested in taking your outdoor Girl Scout adventures to the next level? Schedule your own live info session to learn more about your options including new high adventure badges, upcoming program opportunities, and the newly updated Girl Scout Trailblazer participation pathway. 

Daisies Explore: Science

Program Level: D | Length: 45 min | Cost: $3 | Girl Minimum: 5 | Girl Maximum: 12

Space is an amazing place, full of wonders that make Daisies curious. Let's learn and explore together, and see all that the cosmos has to offer in this edition of Daisies Explore!

Digital Game Design Divas

Program Level:  B, J | Length: 1 hour | Cost: $3 | Girl Minimum: 5 | Girl Maximum: 25

Join us online to get on your way to earning your Digital Game Design badge. During this interactive online session, you'll learn how game designers develop simple computer games and how games can be used "for good." You'll plan your own maze game, and use an iterative design process to plan, create, and improve your new game. 

Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, or Senior Level Group Training

Program Level: V  |  Length: 2 hours  |  Cost: Free  |  Minimum Adults: 6  |  Maximum Adults: 20

Are you a new leader, or are your girls moving up to a new level? Join other leaders and GSHNJ Girl Experience experts to explore Girl Scout resources like The Girls’ Guide to Girl Scouting including petals, badges, Journeys, service projects, and high awards. Get answers to questions about working with Girl Scouts at your level, learn how to incorporate the “Three Processes” to make your meetings easy and successful, and get tips on interacting with girls of this age. Level Training a la Carte is intended for groups of new level leaders; individuals may register for a webinar or tutorial on here.

G.I.R.L. Agenda: Be a Sister to Every Girl Scout

Program Level: ALL | Length: 60-90 min | Cost: $5 | Girl Minimum: 5 | Girl Maximum: 30

Are you ready to stand up for what is right, and help to make the world a better place? In this workshop, you’ll learn about anti-racism and anti-bias by identifying your own unique traits, exploring how to use them for good, taking a closer look at some of the challenges faced by our Girl Scout sisters, and learning how you can take action. The length of time and specific activities for this program are age-appropriate, and will vary by level.

G.I.R.L. Agenda: Vote for Me

Program Level: B, J, C | Length: 90 minutes | Cost: $5 | Girl Minimum: 5 | Girl Maximum: 30

The time for G.I.R.L.s to make your mark is now! Are you ready to step up and take on a leadership role? Get prepped by joining us to perfect your elevator pitch, solidify your campaign slogan, and become inspired by amazing women in politics. If you're considering running for office—whether it's student council, president of the Science Club, or town council—or are thinking of going after another leadership role, this program is for you!

The Great Virtual Girl Scout Scavenger Hunt

Program Level: B, J, C, S, A | Length: 1 hour | Cost: $5 | Girl Minimum:  5 | Girl Maximum: 40

Test your Girl Scout knowledge, teamwork, and ability to find odd things quickly in this fun, at-home, game. We’ll meet up online to receive your challenges, then work in teams using break-out rooms to earn points completing various challenges.  

Gold Award Think Tank

Program Level: S, A  |  Length: 1 hour  |  Cost: Free
Girl Minimum: 5  |  Girl Maximum: 20

During this group brainstorming session we will help you sort out your thoughts in choosing an issue to explore and moving forward with your Gold Award Take Action Project. Girls are encouraged to bring an adult along to help with this brainstorming session. PREREQUISITES: girls must have completed their Girl Scout Journey step, completed the Gold Award online tutorial or attended a webinar, and have begun exploring issues of interest.  

High Awards Workshops

Program Level: J, C, S, A  |  Length: 90 minutes  |  Cost: Free
Girl Minimum: 5   |  Girl Maximum: 20

The Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards are the highest achievements in Girl Scouts. Learn about the requirements, procedures, and tips on making your Highest Award experience successful and beneficial. These workshops cover the same material included in the online tutorials, with the added opportunity to work with GSHNJ Girl Experience experts to dive deep into the Highest Award process for their level, and help generate project ideas.

Journey Jumpstart

Program Level: ALL  |  Length: 90 min-2hrs  |  Cost: $7/girl
Girl Minimum: 7  |  Girl Maximum: 20

Journey Jumpstarts are intended to get leaders comfortable with delivering the Journey materials of their girls’ choice. GSHNJ Girl Experience staff and leaders work together to walk the girls through the first portion of their selected Journey, and then the girls and leaders will complete the rest on their own.

Outdoor Series: Basic Knot Tying

Program Level: ALL | Length: 45-60 min | Cost: $5 | Girl Minimum: 5 | Girl Maximum: 30

Grab some shoelaces or rope and let’s learn some basic knots! Our progressive curriculum means that a workshop can be adapted to girls’ age and experience levels, and groups can come back again and again to learn new knot techniques and applications. Outdoor Series patch included.

Outdoor Series: Me and My Grownup Knife Safety and Skills

Program Level: B, J, C, S, A | Length: 90 min-2hrs | Cost: $8/girl | Girl Minimum: 7 | Girl Maximum: 20

Knife skills are an important part of the Girl Scout outdoor experience.  Get help from experienced outdoorswomen to teach your girls the important fundamentals of using a knife including general safety and when, where, and how to handle sharp knives while camping. Once your girls are more experienced with handling knives, they will practice sharpening and carving. Families must supply their own knives for virtual workshops; here’s a suggestion for a good beginner knife. Outdoor Series patch included.

Planning Service Unit Events

Program Level: V  |  Length: as needed  |  Cost: Free

Does your Service Unit want to offer an event or camporee just for your girls, but you don’t know how to get started or what will be effective? GSHNJ staff is here to provide guidance and tips as you plan and execute a large-scale event or campout. We’ll help you think critically about each aspect of the plan and make decisions about venue, activities, attendance, set-up, and more.

Program Aide Workshop

Program Level: C | Length: 4 hours | Cost: Free | Girl Minimum: 6 | Girl Maximum: 20

The second step to earning your Cadette Program Aide award is to complete a council-sponsored leadership course training. Work with GSHNJ Girl Experience experts to develop your leadership skills, learn how to work with children, and gain a deeper understanding of the elements involved in planning and delivering Girl Scout programming. Virtual workshops are broken into two 2-hour sessions.

Service Project

Program Level: ALL |  Length: varies | Cost: FREE | Girl Minimum: 5

“Do a good turn daily.” “Pay it forward.” “I will do my best to…make the world a better place.” Girl Scouts love to perform service, and GSHNJ has plenty of projects that need YOUR help, and can be done in alignment with current health and safety protocols. Our list is always changing, so contact us to see what projects will fit your group size, time commitment, and skill level.

Speakers Bureau

Program Level: ALL | Length: varies | Cost: FREE | Girl Minimum: 5 

Is your troop working on a badge or Journey that could be enhanced by the presence of someone with expertise in that area? Most badges suggest you “ask a local expert” to learn more about that topic. GSHNJ’s Speakers Bureau is a catalog of subject matter expert volunteers who are willing to connect with your troop and service unit meetings to share their knowledge.

Virtual Fairy Fun

Program Level: D, B, J | Length: 60-75 min | Cost: $5 | Girl Minimum: 5 | Girl Maximum: 30

Let’s make some magical fairy fun!  We’ll make our own fairy wings and food together, and then check out some great fairy houses for inspiration in making our own. A supply list of inexpensive, easy-to-find items will be provided for each family to have on hand so they can craft along with the group. Fun patch included.  

Wayfinding for Beginners

Program Level: ALL | Length:  60-90 minutes | Cost: $5 | Girl Minimum: 5 | Girl Maximum: 15

Learn basic navigation skills including using natural tools to orient yourself, compass skills, and basic map reading in this virtual workshop. Our progressive curriculum means that a workshop can be adapted to the girls’ age and experience level. Participants should have a physical baseplate compass with links to recommended models under $15 provided on request.
