Are You A Media G.I.R.L.?

Do you like being in the spotlight and talking about what it’s like to be a Girl Scout? Do you want to learn even more about what it’s like to be a media professional? Then Media G.I.R.L. is for you!

You already know being in Girl Scouts is awesome and filled with opportunities to discover your inner G.I.R.L. (Go-Getter, Innovator, Risk-Taker, and Leader) so help us spread the word! We are looking for girls to represent Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey through various media opportunities throughout the year. No experience is necessary; you will work with GSHNJ staff and media professionals to learn all about public speaking, storytelling, creating campaigns, and more!

What will girls do as a Media G.I.R.L.?

Depending on their interests and skill set, girls can expect to:

  • Participate in TV, radio, and newspaper interviews along with council photoshoots
  • Create and take part in videos to promote Girl Scout programs and mission
  • Represent GSHNJ at high-profile events in the community including speaking events and appearances
  • Report on special Girl Scout events during the year
What we’re looking for:
  • Are you a Girl Scout Junior, Cadette, Senior, or Ambassador registered for the 2018-2019 school year?
  • Can you agree to a one-year participation commitment?
  • Do you have a full Girl Scout uniform (vest or sash, white top, khaki bottom)?
  • Are you available to attend 2-3 trainings per year?
