Tree Promise: Caring for Our Forests
Our newly planted trees in South Mountain Reservation need help to thrive! Planted as part of the Girl Scout Tree Promise, where Girls Scouts across the nation are coming together to plant 5 million trees in next 5 years, these native trees are helping to regenerate the forests. While we hike into to water and check on our trees, you'll earn your Tree Promise patch by learning about the "superpowers" of trees, the threats they are battling, how you can be a "tree advocate", and take the Girl Scout Tree Promise.
Girl Scout Tree Promise Patch is included. Participants are asked to bring 2 gallon containers to help water our thirsty trees!
Because of COVID, we ask that all adults and girls participating register so we can track participants Dress for the weather, including long pants, long sleeves, and sturdy shoes. Severe weather will cancel. A photo permission form will be provided in advance of the program (permission not required to attend).
We will meet at the Wildflower Preserve in South Mountain Reservation.
