Girl Scouting is in every community in the Heart of New Jersey region, delivered by dedicated volunteers who work cooperatively, emphasizing program delivery to support our Girl Scout family.
Our volunteer led, service delivery model provides girls with flexible ways to participate in Girl Scouting, and engages adults in volunteer roles that are specific, sustainable, and rewarding. It combines all the elements that must be in place to create a movement that will flourish for the next 100 years.
Troops: This is where the fun starts. As a member of a Girl Scout troop, the girls are able to make new friends with diverse interests, go on fun adventures together, and build relationships with their dedicated troop leaders. Troops are organized by grade level from K-12 and our programs develop as the girls grow. There are over 2,000 troops within GSHNJ and we continue to expand!
Service Units: How do we build courageous girls who are ready to take on anything? Our Volunteer Service Units! Girl Scout service units are managed by our volunteers, who provide program and training support to troops in a specific geographic area. GSHNJ currently has 62 service units.
